West Yorkshire 4x4 Volunteers were formed in 2011 by an experienced group of 4x4 owners. We recognised that in adverse weather conditions such as floods, snow and ice, our local emergency and care services were struggling to get to certain areas where they would be needed. This then has an impact on the safety and well-being of the community.
West Yorkshire 4x4 Volunteers are here to assist organisations such as Police, Ambulance, Local Authorities and Charities.
West Yorkshire 4x4 Volunteers is a registered charity in England and Wales (1155877).
The group has Public Liability Insurance in place to cover us at all times.
West Yorkshire 4x4 Volunteers covers the geographical area of West Yorkshire as defined by the Ordnance Survey county boundary.
However should assistance be required outside of the county please get in touch as we may still be able to help.
We are also able to assist private companies, such as nursing homes and care facilities.
All our drivers have to complete an induction and all relevant training before they are sent out on calls. We have monthly meetings to ensure that all drivers are up to date with training and legislation.
In order to operate, we rely on our valuable network of supporters, fund raisers, event organisers and other volunteers as well as our core volunteer drivers.
We are not government funded and rely solely on donations, please help us continue our operations by donating below! All moneys raised goes to developing the group further and ensuring continued cover throughout West Yorkshire.
